Under direct supervision of the Clinic Manager of the Via La Jolla OB/GYN Outpatient Clinic, the Charge Nurse adheres to the Core Value Competencies and carries out nursing functions in the Women’s Health Services Clinic. The Charge RN develops, interprets, evaluates, implements, and documents a plan of care for clinic patients using the nursing process and acts as an advocate providing safe delivery of patient care. The Charge RN counsels patients and families and coordinates care through the use of referrals and community agencies.
Duties also include orientation and training of new clinic staff members; Support strategic plans for clinic growth; Monitor and ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory agency guidelines; Communicate to and educate staff on pertinent clinical information conveyed at meetings and teleconferences, whenever deemed necessary; Inventory and manage purchase of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals; Maintain adequate patient education material; Attend meetings as requested by the Clinic Manager; Maintain RN and Medical Assistant schedules to cover clinic needs.

Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
Minimum three years of Women's Health RN experience, to include ambulatory, outpatient clinic experience.
Experience and proven success in skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic.
Strong knowledge of practice operations
Previous management, supervisory or charge experience.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
