Responsibilities

Responsible for assistant management in the efficient operation of the Miramar Inn Facilities of 154 guest rooms, and a recreational lodging facility with eight cabins, five camp and RV sites. Responsible for the front office, housekeeping and maintenance functions. Conducts surveys and studies to ensure that services and facilities meet the needs, cleanliness and desire of patrons. Assist management in creating new policies of innovative promotions that increase occupancy rate, deliver quality guest service and maintain the required level of profitability. Develop and implement strategies/procedures to ensure safety and security of occupants. Coordinates with counterparts in the local hotel/motel industry to arrange space at a reasonable rate for patrons when space is not available at the Lodge. 

Plans, organizes work and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares financial plan, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Reviews the financial status of the assigned activity and recommends changes considered necessary. Either directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors, manages activity employees. Trains, schedules work, appraises performance, counsels assigned personnel, and recommends personnel actions. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity policy, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, security, sanitation and other environmental issues. Manages new property resources and provides advice on renovations and improvements. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problem quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor Degree Preferred. A minimum of three years experience in managing a motel/hotel type operation. A Certified Hotel Administrator designation preferred. Ability to supervise employees accomplishing work. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with subordinates, officials and others. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
