Staff Engineer, AI/Machine Learning RFIC Design

pSemi has a 30-year history of changing the world from the invention of RFSOI to our innovation leadership in the RF Front End. Artificial Intelligence and machine learning are emerging technologies changing the world and we are looking for leaders to apply them to the world of RF. The AI and Machine Learning developer will focus on developing a methodology and framework for using AI and ML to create RFICs. As part of our advanced RFIC research project in Corporate R&D, you will be involved in building best-in-class solutions and silicon needed to enable state-of-the-art technologies for smart phones, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and IOT devices. In this role, you will work in a dynamic research environment, be part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on automated design acceleration.
We are looking for exceptional individuals skilled in ML and Deep-Learning algorithms, frameworks and application development. Challenges include the ability to quickly learn and apply state of the art techniques for physical implementation and design of RFICs, leveraging the quickly developing field of ML and bring it to hardware design.
This position requires the ability to independently define development plans and arrange for resources to execute to the plan. A successful individual will have a strong understanding of developing machine learning projects and a background in the physical science. This highly visible role will be the bridge that connected the new world of AI/Ml and the world of RF Front End Design.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for: Development of software tools and framework for application machine learning algorithms to RFIC design Enable team to run an automated design engine Review and analyze data to optimize hardware design to create industry leading application performance in record time. Ensure successful developments: Be a technical leader through strong example and training of more junior engineers, documenting all relevant product and design information to educate others on novel design techniques and provide guidance on product usage

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills) A strong software engineering background with emphasis on C/C++ or Python Experience in debugging complex software issues with a focus on object-oriented software design and development Previous experience working in an Agile environment, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams Ability to communicate and document design work with clarity and completeness Previous experience working on machine learning projects Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements with punctuality and professionalism
Beneficial experience and skills CMOS and/or RF circuit design experience Knowledge of CMOS and IC fabrication and how this impacts circuit performance Knowledge of analog and digital IC design Knowledge of neural networks, with hands-on experience using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch Knowledge of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), RNN/LSTMs Experience with EM simulation tools such as HFSS, Sonnet and Momentum Experience with Matlab
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's in one of: Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and 8 years of related experience or 6 years of related experience and Master's degree
